The students of Helen Cox celebrated Spirit Week last week by participating in themed costume days. The days were: College Day, Hippie Day, Hawaiian Day, Superhero Day, and the classic Red and Gold Day.
About 70% of the school participated in the spirit week, College day was one of the most popular day. Most of the students wore LSU shirts for this day. Hippie day was full of funny wigs and clothing; this day was definitely a success! Almost everyone wore bell-bottom, curly wigs, and headbands as one of their outfit pieces. Their outfits were very creative, colorful, and hippie-ish!
Hawaiian day was another success! Leis, hawaiian skirts, and shirts was the outfit of the day. Almost of all the teachers participated by wearing their colorful floral shirts, but not all of the students participated. Superhero day was the most creative and humorous day because of the pros and artificial costumes. The most popular imitation of superheros were Spiderman, Superman, and Batman. Some students thought of their own type of superhero by dressing in their “diy” props and creative clothing.
For the classic Red and Gold day, almost the entire school participated in this day. A couple of students painted themselves red and gold from head to toe, and some wore red or gold also. The teachers that participated in Spirit Week did a wonderful job!
Every year of spirit week is different but this particular year was creative and funny!
I believe the teacher and the students did very well and definitely showed school spirit by participating. The bar has been set for 2015!
